One day Scharf just went ahead and ordered the parts that we needed to build the 3D printer. After building the printer we ended up having some issues with the software since we couldn't figure out how to load in the custom printer preferences. After playing with it Scharf got it somewhat functional but after trying to further adjust the preferences it stopped working correctly. We are now at a point of dealing the sunk cost effect of trying to get the printer functional versus the prospective cost of buying a commercial version.
Scharf has got the printer to work but not consistently. The computer software is currently running on Cura but we may want to try Octoprint which was developed from the Cura program.
