I am working on cleaning out the lumber and materials from the basement. Once I am done with this we are going to need to figure out how to utilize the space. I am thinking that we build a lot shelving for tools/materials for the house as well as storage for camping gear, clothes, ect. An example shelving design for the space against the wall as you first walk down to the bottom of the steps is in this sketchup file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1p6ac4cXR4ZBD82yPLYi6NglCmkpvmhnX.
I also made cut sheets and leveling instructions here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uX6H2omAMg81QbmF_q5TrNcydZ0Nzpt-yrCjwCiEUEM
Once we decide if this is what we want to use this space for then I will measure the dimensions of this space and we can begin designing this shelving. Lets put a deadline of 2/1/2020 to decide if this is how we want to proceed with utilizing this space.
I made a sketchup file for part of the basement and some shelving design: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o76WvcU4XDh89xTaspfVF1SbQsm1s6oS/view?usp=sharing
I also made an alternative design for the shelving based on logs as shown below. We can use the tenon cutter for the joints and to cut the flat tops so we can lay flat boards across for the shelving I ordered a chainsaw mill and looked at jig designs that could be used to cut a straight section of the log as shown below. This shelving design can be found in the same file at the link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o76WvcU4XDh89xTaspfVF1SbQsm1s6oS/view?usp=sharing.
I built one of these shelves and then mom bought some metal shelving from Costco. We will need to assess whether additional shelving units will be needed.
